Admissions

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

Admissions at St.Rose's

As St Rose's is a Voluntary Aided School, the Governors are the admitting authority. The Governors, in consultation with Westminster Diocese Education Service and Hertfordshire Local Education Authority, review and if appropriate, update the admission policies for School and Nursery on an annual basis.

Applications for Reception
St Rose’s operates a single intake into Reception in September each year.

Parents wishing to apply to St. Rose’s for a Reception place for their child need to complete both the St Rose’s Supplementary Information Form and the Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) application form. Practising Catholic families are encouraged to also submit a Priest’s Reference as this will strengthen their application. Copies of the child’s Birth and Baptismal Certificates (where a child has been baptised) will also need to be provided with the application.

Please note late applications (either school or county) could seriously jeopardise the chances of your child being offered a place at St Rose’s.

Parents are encouraged to complete the HCC application form on line. If you choose to submit a paper HCC application you are encouraged to send it by a method that provides proof of postage, unfortunately schools are no longer permitted to accept HCC forms.

If you would like any help completing the application process, or if you would like to use the school internet access to apply on line, please contact Mrs Power in the office.

Open Meetings
To provide interested parents the opportunity to come and visit St Rose’s we arrange times when Mrs Tregear, the Headteacher, can meet with groups of parents to discuss our school. During the meeting parents have the opportunity to hear about the application process, our aims for both the pupils and the school, our policies and facilities. The meeting concludes with a tour of our school

If you have not visited St Rose’s but wish to do so, please contact us and we will be able to provide you with the details of any scheduled Open Meetings.
