Nursery Teaching Assistants: Mrs Jenkins, Mrs Wiles and Mrs Johnston
There are two intakes to our morning only Nursery each year, in September and January. Our nursery session begins at 8.45 -11.45. We have a lunch club that runs daily in our nursery from 11.45-1.15. Please speak to the school office for further details and availability.
Books All children have the opportunity to go to the school library to choose one book to take home. Please ensure that your child brings their library book and book bag to school on this day. Nursery library day is Friday. Regrettably we are unable to issue a new library book until the previous week's book has been returned.
Our P.E. day is Thursday. Long hair needs to be tied back and earrings are not allowed to be worn in school at any time.

This week we read The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson as a part of our topic work. Some of us made a paper plate craft snake to go with the theme. On Wednesday we painted the plates and made the heads. On Thursday we decorated the plates with patterns using felt pens.
In adult led activities this week we have been writing our names and mark making patterns using highlighter pens. By using lots of colours we did 'rainbow writing'. We are getting very good at sitting ready to write and learning how to hold a pen in a pincer grip.
We have had the chance to see the chicks. They have grown so big already! Lorin asked if the chicks could fly. Freya explained that they are still too small and that their wings can't fly yet.
We saw that they drink water, have a bed made out of sawdust and their food is dry like breakfast cereal.
We have been using number lines to help us work out missing numbers. We used magnetic numbers to fill in the gaps.
In our outdoor area we have been mark making with chalks...
Today we celebrated looking forward to Easter with our family and friends. We enjoyed sharing songs, rhymes and prayers. We shared hot cross buns and chocolate Easter nests together at the end.
W.B: Monday 27th March
On Friday 24th, we were visited by PCSO Daniel. He told us about how he helps our local community. We all had a go at trying on his jacket which is a part of his uniform.
Spring has sprung! We are enjoying mark making outside with chunky chalks. We are enjoying getting on the tyres.
We have enjoyed writing telephone messages and talking to our friends on the telephone in our role play.
Here is a preview of some of our activities from this week.
On Monday we were visited by BLUE Watch from Hemel Hempstead Fire Service. We got to find out about what the fire crew wear and also learned about the equipment they use.
We have also been learning about a veterinary surgery and some of us have been playing in our role play veterinary surgery.
We have been talking about shape and size, comparing pictures of people who help us. We have been looking at big, bigger, biggest and small, smaller, smallest.
We are also creating our own book about people who help us and we are being encouraged to write words and mark make for our own page to be included in the book.

Mrs Gavin came to give us ashes.
This week we are exploring shapes in our environment. First we selected a shape to find. We then went looking and found triangles, squares, circles and rectangles.
