PTA

Our PTA – helping to raise money for our school in a fun and easy way.

Who are the Parents Teachers Association (PTA)?

The St Rose’s PTA is a volunteer group of parents, supported by the school to help raise money for our children at St Rose’s.  We help to arrange lots of fun events throughout the year.  We are dedicated to developing fundraising activities that serve a fuller purpose, helping to draw in all the family, bring together the community and helping to ensure that, at St Rose’s, we all together love and learn happily as part of God's family.

Recent event include:  Film nights, school discos, pamper evenings, and our fantastic Christmas fair.  We also help produce Christmas cards designed by the children, school calendars, as well as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts.

Keep up to date with what is going on

We send out letters via Book Bags to tell you about future events, but the best way to keep in touch is through our Facebook page

What is the money spent on?

Over the past year 2015-16 PA funds have allowed the school to invest in Guided Reading books, a new Handwriting scheme and resources and resources to support practical Maths.

We have also been able to fund an upgrade of the school library computer system.

The PTA Committee

We meet on a regular basis (normally in the pub) to plan upcoming events.  We would love it if you could come along to one of our meetings. At the moment we are just a small team, so we are always looking for more people to help plan our events and come up with some creative fundraising ideas.   However, if you can’t make it along to a meeting, there are many more ways that you can help.

How you can help...

When we put on events, we need lots of helpers.  This can range from helping out at our Christmas Fair, asking for raffle prizes, or helping out at our film nights or school discos.  Please don’t feel that you have to help out at all events, we grateful for all your help and support.  Your biggest support comes from coming along to our events, and your generous donations – especially when it comes to buying hot drinks and cakes!

Other ways to raise money

As well as our school events, there are lots of ways that you can raise money.

Fundraise while you shop online

Easy Fundraising – Raise money when you shop online.

Simply log onto the Easyfundraising website - register, select the retailer you wish to purchase from, then place your order. You pay the price of the item and each retailer you buy from will donate a percentage to the school. Please don’t forget to tell your friends and family as this is an easy way for you to help raise much needed funds for our school. Easy Fundraising also provides a 'find and remind' tool which you can download, so you will get a reminder to shop via easyfundraising.

Yellow Moon – Fundraise when stocking up on party bag fillers

Do you need to stock up on party bag fillers, or fun arts and crafts activities?  Yellow Moon is a fantastic website and 10% of your purchases can be donated to St Rose’s.  Log on to Yellow Moon, set up your account and search for St Roses Infant School, Boxmoor.

Micro Scooter – 10%  donated when you buy direct from Micro Scooter

Micro Scooter will give St Roses 10% commission on all scooters or accessories purchased throughout the year.  Buy direct from the Micro Scooter website and place your order.

When you click on ‘my basket’ or checkout, there will be a box called school code (under basket contents).  Enter the code 117484 and press apply.  Then checkout as normal.

Donate your unwanted clothes

Twice a year we ask you to bring in your unwanted clothes, shoes, bedding as part of ‘Phil the Bag’.  The more you bring in, the more money we raise.

Can your employer help us raise money?

Some large companies offer a matched fundraising scheme.  So if you help out on a stall at our Christmas Fair that makes £100, your employer may match the amount of money you raised.

Raffle Prizes – Could your employer donate raffle prizes or vouchers for our key events?  Or what about coffee cups – we always need those – so could your employer supply some of these?

Please check with your employer to see if they can help out at all.

Please get in touch

Don’t forget to check out our Facebook page, or drop a note in the PTA book in the school office to get in touch.  We would love to hear from you.
