Reading Books

Each reading group has an allocated day where there books are changed. This is written in the children's reading records. Please make sure that you read with you child everyday. . Regrettably we are unable to change school reading books until the previous books have been written in the reading record, returned and the  reading record is signed. Please also practise the key words in the red word book.

We always try to keep to the set reading book change days, however, there are some weeks where we have to be flexible with this.

P.E. Days Our P.E. days are Monday and Friday. P.E. kits should be kept in school at all times. We will send them home over the school holidays. Long hair needs to be tied back and earings are not allowed to be worn in school at any time.
Morning Routine When children arrive in the morning they are expected to say goodbye to their parents at the classroom door and come into the classroom, being greeted by the teacher. The children then change out of their coats and outdoor shoes, putting away their book bags, water bottles and lunch boxes. Once their belongings are away the children go to their places where they can read a book or continue with work on their desk. At 9:00 the classroom door is closed and registration is taken, finishing with morning prayer. Any child arriving after 9:00 must enter school through the Main Reception Area where a late slip must be completed.

We will always strive to maintain these routines. However, on rare occasions, circumstances prevent us from following them exactly.

STORY AND END OF DAY PRAYERS IN CLASS

This what a normal week in Class 3 looks like.

Friday 17th March

Class 3 have been having a fantastic week!

We have been writing reports in English about different animals. The children are really applying their learning from Science and have been so motivated by this topic!

They have also had a visit from Miss Appleby's tortoise.

Today we explored making animal sculptures out of playdough!

Next week we are going to Tring Zoological Museum.

Thursday 9th February

Today we have been concluding our Science topic of 'Materials'.

We planned, predicted and carried out a floating and sinking science investigation. We used our knowledge of materials to help us think about which would float and which would sink.

Ask your child to tell you the results of the investigation!

Week Beginning - 16th Jan 2017

This week we have hosted our first Handwriting Workshop. We had great feedback from all of the adults and the children loved sharing their learning. We look forward to doing the rest next week!

The children have also been learning about Toys and Materials. They have been identifying the materials of different objects in Science. The children have also been learning about modern toys in History.

The children have enjoyed creating our toy museum display.
