Welcome to St Catherine's Class Page
Class Teacher: Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Kelly-Keegan
Support staff: Mrs K Vardy
|Reading Books||In Reception school reading books are changed weekly. Your child will be allocated a book change day, which you will be notified of in the Autumn Term. If there is no comment in your child's Reading Record we will assume you have not had a chance to read with your child. Please record the text title(s) in your child's reading record.|
|P.E. Day||Our P.E. day is Thursday Afternoon, P.E. kits should be kept in school at all times. We will send them home over the school holidays. Long hair needs to be tied back and earrings are not allowed to be worn in school at any time. It would be helpful if girls could have a pair of white ankle socks in their PE bag for the days they come to school wearing tights.|

Reception Long Term Plan
Springtime has arrived at last. We are busy learning about 'Growing' this half term. We have been measuring, checking and recording as things grow. We have been planting our own seeds and beans and look forward to seeing them develop.
Ask us about the life cycle of a frog, we know all about them as we have been watching them grow in class!
We also had a wonderful 'Take One Book' week. 'The Gruffalo' inspired us to write, use funny voices, describe and make puppets to help us to retell our own versions of the story. Come in and see our Gruffalo display!
Mrs Vardy transformed our Role Play area into a shop. There are all sorts of things to buy, pay for and count. We have real money and can recognise coin values. We enjoy writing lists, receipts and labels in our shop.
We have been walking with Jesus through Lent. We have been lighting the candle each day, saying a special prayer and thinking of ways we can shine our light with Jesus. We look forward to hearing all about the Good News of Easter.
