History
The intent of our History curriculum is to ignite pupil’s curiosity about the past; history has had an impact on the lives and experiences of everyone alive today, our world and society has been shaped by significant people and events of the past. If children have a good understanding of cultural, national and international history, then this helps them to understand and create their own and shared identities. Children at St Roses will develop their historical skills, knowledge and concepts and will increase their knowledge and understanding of the present, in the context of the past. They will develop their skills in enquiry, analysis, evaluation and critical thinking.
Autumn 1
This half-term we have been learning about chronology within living memory. In reception this has involved discussing and sequencing daily routines. In year 1 they have been learning how to use timelines and thinking about what they tell us. In year 2, they have been using their knowledge of chronology to make comparisons and draw conclusions.
