We live, love and learn happily in our work and play as part of God's family

Nursery - St. Francis - Miss McDonagh and Mrs Collins

Welcome to Nursery -

St Francis of Assisi

Nursery have been very busy this past week diving into our Under the sea Topic. The children read the story Commotion in the Ocean last week where we learnt names and facts about some of the Sea creatures. Our role play area has been transformed and the children can now explore the Sea. Children can make their own sandcastles, fish in the rock pool or buy and sell Ice creams in the ice cream shop. The children have been using their phonics finding skills to find the e objects in the Treasure Chest amongst the shipwreck. We have used various construction materials to make boats and had lots of fun testing if they float or sink. In our maths activities the children have been exploring capacity in the water tray and have enjoyed the messy task of sharing the fish equally among the shells. In R.E the children have learnt about being part of Gods family and are looking at what we can see inside a Church. After reading the Rainbow fish this week Nursery will be exploring colour mixing skills by making their own yummy rainbow lolly’s to cool off with in the sun.
