Nursery - St. Francis - Miss McDonagh and Mrs Collins
Welcome to Nursery -
St Francis of Assisi
In nursery we started the term celebrating fireworks, exploring colour and messy arts. The children really enjoyed exploring their creativity. The children had the chance to make their own class Scarecrows after reading The Scarecrows Wedding. We got to view the campfire in forest school to help support our understanding of fire safety and the children enjoyed tasting the marshmallows that had been toasted over the fire. The Nursery children have had lots of fun helping to fight fires in our fire station role play area.
We continued exploring colour last week when learning about Diwali, tasting a sample of traditional Indian foods and making their own Diva lamps celebrating the festival of light. They have enjoyed exploring their senses making Rangoli patterns with coloured rice and looking at measuring with the water beads.
