  Key Information
Reading Books In Reception school reading books are changed weekly. Your child will be allocated a book change day, which you will be notified of in the Autumn Term. If there is no comment in your child's Reading Record we will assume you have not had a chance to read with your child.
Library Books All children have the opportunity to go to the school library to choose one book to take home.  Please ensure that your child brings their library book and book bag to school on this day.  Library books do not need to be recorded in your child's Reading Record.
P.E. Day Our P.E. day is Thursday Morning. P.E. kits should be kept in school at all times. We will send them home over the school holidays. Long hair needs to be tied back and earrings are not allowed to be worn in shool at any time. It would be helpful if girls could have a pair of white ankle socks in their PE bag for the days they come to school wearing tights.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 1
As part of our Lenten journey, Fr Paul came in to do Adoration with us. He brought in the monstrance where he put the Body of Christ during our Adoration. We sang 'Shine the light' and 'This little light of mine'. We learned that an important part of Adoration is to listen. So we listened carefully to the word of God and worshipped Jesus. It was a beautiful and peaceful way to start Lent.

Shrove Tuesday - a day for pancakes

Shrove Tuesday - a day for pancakes 1
On Shrove Tuesday we learned about Jesus going into the desert for 40 days and 40 nights. He gave up everything so that he could concentrate on praying to God. That is what we will do this Lent. We will give something up and/or try to pray more to God, just like Jesus did. We made and ate pancakes then wrote our Lenten Promises, which we shared in the whole school Ash Wednesday Liturgy.
